Ultraspec Ultra Pure Acid Standards
DE BRUYN SPECTROSCOPIC SOLUTIONS
is proud to introduce their range of ULTRAPURE pure acids, all with full cetificate of analysis and now available through Quadrex Technolohies and it's regional reprentatives.
ULTRAPURE acids are manufactured locally in our South African Labs which means no long waiting periods and inflated costs due to import and transport duties.
ULTRAPURE acids are immediately available in 1L Savilex teflon bottles.
The following acids are available:
ULTRAPURE Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) - Click here for more info...
ULTRAPURE Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) - Click here for more info...
ULTRAPURE Nitric Acid (HNO3) - Click here for more info...
ULTRAPURE HYDROCHLORIC ACID (HCl)
Lot Number: HCl- 9/2011
Release Date: January 4, 2011.
Expiration Date: January 4, 2014.
The Hydrochloric Acid is contained in a SAVILLEX PFA (TEFLON) 1 Litre narrow neck screw cap bottle. Storage in a cool, dark place is recommended.
Procedure for testing ULTRASPEC® ULTRAPURE HYDROCHLORIC ACID:
The elements are determined by ICP-MS using sample preconcentration. The results are an average of three aliquots subsampled from three samples represented of the lot.The samples are slowly evaporated to dryness in a SAVILLEX PTFE smooth surfaced evaporating dish.
The resulting residue is redissolved in a small volume of 2% ULTRAPURE Nitric Acid / 2% ULTRAPURE Hydrogen Peroxide.
All operations are conducted under Class 100 or better clean-room conditions.
HCl ( 32-35% ) : PROPERTIES

UltraPure Nitric Acid (HNO3)
Catalogue Number: ULTRASPEC® ULTRAPURE NITRIC ACID
Lot Number: HNO3-9/2011
Release Date: January 4, 2011.
Expiration Date: January 4, 2014.
The Nitric Acid is contained in a SAVILLEX PFA (TEFLON) 1 Litre narrow neck screw cap bottle. Concentrated Nitric Acid can decompose to nitrogen oxides (NOx) through action of heat or light resulting in a yellow colouration. However, this does not affect the performance of the acid with respect to trace metals or oxidising power. Storage in a cool, dark place is recommended.
Procedure for testing ULTRASPEC ULTRAPURE NITRIC ACID:
The elements are determined by ICP-MS using sample preconcentration. The results are an average of three aliquots subsampled from three samples represented of the lot.The samples are slowly evaporated to dryness in a SAVILLEX PTFE smooth surfaced evaporating dish.
The resulting residue is redissolved in a small volume of 2% ULTRAPURE Nitric Acid / 2% ULTRAPURE Hydrogen Peroxide.
All operations are conducted under Class 100 or better clean-room conditions.
HNO3 ( 65-69% ) : PROPERTIES
Molar Mass: 63.01 g/mol.
Density : 1.41 g/mL
Molarity : 16 moles/litre
Normality : 16 moles/litre
Standard pack 250 mL, 500 mL, 1 000 mL.
Application:
Environmental Analysis (eg, using AAS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS GFAAS) , Trace Metal Analysis, Ion Chromatography, Voltammetry
