3.) Determination of Mercury in Water Samples by HG-AFS

Mercury and its sompounds are highly toxic materials and can be transferred into the human body via water; the concentration of mercury in water generally is very low. With the superior sensitivity of Aurora's Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300, or the LUMINA 3400TM direct measurement of mercury in water sample is possible.

4.) Determination of Germanium in Spring Water by HG-AFS

The concentration of Germanium in drinking water and spring water is very low, therefore it is difficult to measure it directly by a traditional method. Due to the high sensitivity and excellent detection ability of Aurora's hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300 or the LUMINA 3400TM, direct measurement of mercury in water sample is possible.

5.) Heavy Metal Determination

The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) has recently revised the elemental impurity limits and procedures in pharmaceutical products from the traditional method outlined in USP .

The proposed implementation date is September 2013 for the revised chapters, which include:

  • - Elemental Impurities Limits
  • - Elemental Impurities Procedures
  • - Elemental Contaminants in Dietary Supplements

8.) Determination of Mercury in Milk Powder by HG-AFS

Mercury and its sompounds are highly toxic materials and can be transferred into the human body via milk. Mercury in milk powder by means of H2O2-HNO3 extraction followed by Aurora's Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300 or the LUMINA 3400TM.

9.) Determination of Selenium in Fish Meat by HG-AFS

Selenium is one of the essential trace elements found in the human body. Various diseases are related to the lack of selenium, given that this element is important for metabolism, health and growth. Aurora's hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300 or the LUMINA 3400TM can measure the amount of selenium in fish meat.

14.) Determination of Bismuth in Cosmetics by HG-AFS

Bismuth compounds are often used in cosmetics as a replacement for lead given its toxicity. Bismuth can be measured by Aurora's hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300 or the LUMINA 3400TM. The sample preparation consists of oxidizing Bi to Bi3+, which reacted with BABH4 yields BiH3. The BiH3 is moved to the atomizer by the courier gas and broken down there. The ground state of Bi can be excited by the light by the Bi-HC lamp and the fluorescence sign is measured consequently by photo multiple tube.
